The council is at a time of great innovation and change. The purpose of Barnet Council is to provide a range of quality services. This can only be achieved by effective and appropriate use of the personal data we collect.

The council will endeavour to ensure your personal data will be processed in accordance with the Principles of the Data Protection Act 1998 and any disclosure(s) made will be in accordance with our Notification registered with the Information Commissioner, which can be viewed at www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk.
Information provided by you via our on-line transactional services will only be used for the purpose(s) stated on that particular form. Any personal information collected in emails will only be used for the purpose(s), which we reasonably believe it was provided for. The council is committed to the highest standards of quality of information. If any of the information is out of date, contains errors or anything that causes you concern please let us know.
Computer Viruses
Barnet council makes every effort to virus check all the information available for download from the website. The council cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage which may occur from the use of downloaded material from the council's website. It is recommended that all information, which is downloaded is checked using your own anti-virus software.
Monitoring
The council reserves the right to monitor the use of the council's email (incoming and outgoing electronic mail) and Internet facilities to ensure that they are used effectively and appropriately at all times. Any misuse will be reported and the appropriate action will be taken.
